Salt City Dishes Recap

I attended my first Salt City Dishes event on Sunday. It was a lot of fun! Basically it’s an event to help support local art projects. You buy tickets, show up at the event, get a tasty meal (and it was delicious!), listen to presenters, an vote on which project you’d like to support. The money raised through the ticket sales is given to the chosen group as a grant to use toward the successful developed of their project.

A lot of the presenters complete their projects with or without the grant, so it’s also a great way to get expose.

So, last night’s winner was Bikes for Peace.

“Bikes for Peace provides free training for young people who want to repair their bikes. The grant will help to broaden the organization’s volunteer training program and purchase supplies including tools and helmets.”

Good luck to their project and everyone else who presented. I’m really looking forward to participating in more events like this that support the development of Syracuse and art.
